Hello, I'm getting a "No Flow Detected, Check Pump, Flow Cell, Filter, and Valves" alarm message on my screen. I think I've narrowed the problem down to the flow cell because when the system starts the magnet is up floating near the top and everything works fine. Sometimes the system works for hours before the magnet floats to the bottom, other days the system only works for minutes. I'm assuming something is happening with the amount of water being pushed through it and causing the message.
I think all of my valves are positioned properly because the PSI on my gauges is still in the same range as when my pool was installed 6 months ago. The pump is working fine (I'm currently running my pump at 3000 RPM's for 8 hrs/day), and I cleaned out my filter yesterday.
In the Intellichem Water Chemistry Controller Manuel for trouble shooting alarm messages it says, "Ensure the pool pump is turned on, that valves are properly positioned, and that sufficient water is being directed to the flow cell. Make sure the magnet is properly contained in the flow tube and that the detector is wired properly to the Flow switch terminal block. The flow switch should be closed (shorted) to indicate flow."
My questions are as follows:
1) How can i check to see if sufficent water is being directed to the flow cell?
2) How do I check the flow switch and ensure that it is "closed/shorted" to indicate flow?
3) Can I just unscrew the flow tube (with the power off of course) and take a look or will that mess it up?
Or maybe it's none of that and I'm missing something. Has anybody else had this problem? Thanks in advance for your input.
