    Slamming with CYA at ZERO

I have started to SLAM my pool, but my CYA is at zero. I tested it with two different test kits just to be sure.

Is this okay or should I be adding stabilizer at this time?

They usually recommend at least 20-30 CYA so your FC holds during the day.

Hello again Marci. Yes, definitely hang a sock with some granular stabilizer in there or else your bleach will disappear quickly to the sun. You can start with a target CYA goal of 20 just so you can maintain a lower SLAM/Shock FC level of 10. After the SLAM is completed, you'll probably want tin increase the CYA to 30-50 depending upon the amount of sun your pool receives. Follow everything listed on the SLAM page and you'll do well. Good luck!

Great to hear from you Marci!!!!! You were a champ last season so I am sure that your new issues will go smoothly!

If you have started slamming, are you getting an FC reading within say an hour or so or does it basically disappear right away?

What is your FC level to start that SLAM?
