I think this is the first.
I get the generic 8.25% at Fred Meyer $ 2.88 a gallon.
Best deal I've found.
Lately every store seems to be selling Chlorox for almost $ 5.

Our Walmart in Texas has generic bleach at 3.75 qts for $2.89 at 8.25% chlorine and generic pool chlorine at $3.62 for 4qts at 10% chlorine. It's almost a wash.

At Leslie's, Brandon, FL: $4.50 for 2.5 gal jug. $3.99 special every so often. 10.5%. So, that's equivalent to $1.80 ($1.60)/gal.
Spring TX: $25.46 for 14 gal 11% at Napco chemicals - That is $0.129 per oz Cl, or $1 for every 7.7oz Cl.
One of my local pool stores usually has deals on powder and liquid shock when they open, I like to stock up then.
Most of the TFPers here avoid using too much in the way of powders as they add unwanted ingredients to our pools such as CYA or Calcium. When used exclusively the CYA or calcium gets too high and causes problems and the only way to resolve high levels is to drain and replace water. That's not always possible in areas where water is heavily restricted.
It rains here all the time and that pretty much fixes it for me. Just drain a little and let the rain fill it up.
lucky you and the Florida folks.....but lets not rub it in too hard to the poor folks in California, huh?

Last year I could get 4 bottles of 128oz 10% at Atwoods in Oklahoma for $7.99. That's $2 a gallon of 10%. Today the price was $10 for 4 gallons, which is still good compared to walmart, but I hope they lower the price back to $8 once the season starts.
Rural King here has 4 gallon bottles of 10% for $7.99. It has been the same price for last three years.

Just got back from our local (Houston / Heights area) Wal Mart and saw they have their 1 gallon jugs of 10% chlorinating liquid on 'Roll Back' to $2.50...with quite a bit in stock.
walked in our local Ollies today and the guy told me that they might not stock the Austins Pool Tech 12.5% shock this year. But they did have 13.5% little half gallons or 3/4 gallons for $3.99. HTH brand.
Quick question about Bleach and entering it into the PoolMath calculator. This Clorox bleach at Walmart contains ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Sodium Hypochlorite: 8.25%, OTHER INGREDIENTS: 91.75%, TOTAL: 100.00%. (Yields 7.85% available chlorine). Contains no phosphorus. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Clorox-Concentrated-Regular-Bleach-121-fl-oz/21618295 I should enter it on the FC line as 8.25 and not 7.85 correct? Is this the right type of Bleach to be buying for the pool? Thanks for the help!

That is a very good question, I have never seen the "yields... " on any of the bottles I buy, I have never used clorox, always found a cheaper off brand. I always just put the 8.25% and dreams have always come true.
Last week it was $7.99. It will be that price all summer once Memorial day rolls around. The trick at mine is to stock up early because they are out a lot during the summer.
