Is a Nature 2 Cartridge really needed for a SWG?

Hello all and Happy Spring!

As I prepare to open my pool, I want to know if a Nature 2 Cartridge is really needed for a SWG? I have been reading about it and notice that it sounds as an optional component (sanitizer) that can be use in regular Chlorine pools as well. It's the chlorine produced by the SWG my sanitizer? Does the TFP System recommend the use of it?

A quick search of TFP should show that we absolutely do not recommend the use of the mineral cartridge. They can cause green hair and pool staining.

The chlorine is your sanitizer.
