Aeration Question

How long after adding muriatic acid to lower ph to 7.0-7.2 do you have to wait before starting to aerate?

If the purpose of lowering the pH was originally intended to low TA, you can aerate right away. That way the TA stays lower and you get the pH back to the recommended level before doing it all over again.

Immediately. I add acid with the pump on... which means there's already water coming over the spa spillway, so I'm actually aerating the water before I can get the cap off the jug!

Am I correct thinking it is better to leave the solar blanket off while aerate? don't mean to hijack post, but is related.

Aeration is increasing the air/water interface area. Having a solar blanket on the pool does the exact opposite.

Sure. Besides warming the water, it lessens evaporation, which means you need to add less refill water, which means less Calcium buildup.
