Endless Pool Nature 2 cartridge, swim current timer

Endless Pool specifies that the Nature 2 cartridge is installed using a tie wrap to hold the cartridge in the pool water filter. Having done this and upon later removing the filter for cleaning, I found the tie wrap retention strap had deteriorated and broke apart, 2 pieces of which got into the circulating system. Has this happened to anybody else? How did you respond to this?

There is a timer which is supposed to shut off the swim current after 30 minutes if the swim current speed has not been changed. Has anybody experienced the occasional failure of the swim current to stop after 30 minutes?

There are not many folks on here with the endless pool so we will bump this up so folks who have them have a better chance of seeing this.
