Hi, new member here.

My pool pump went sparky and died. So I did research ordered a new pump and seals. All seemed straight forward until I reached replacing the shaft seal. Everything I read said hand tighten the impeller. So I hand tighten the impeller with the new seal in place and the shaft became really hard to turn afterwards. Thinking that the turn direction will tighten the impeller correctly in time, I backed the impeller off some to free up the pump shaft. After putting everything in place I have a pump leak. Where did I go wrong?

Parts I ordered.
