Re-Filling after Renovation: Chlorine vs Salt

Hi!

I am completing a pool renovation (re-plastering, water line, etc.). I changed my pool to salt over a year ago (and love it) but the Pool Contractor recommends that (when re-filling the pool) I run the system on Chlorine for a couple of weeks before switching to Salt again (no specific reason beyond "That's what I've always seen & done).

I have a Hayward Aqua Plus system.

your contractor is telling you the truth. Adding salt to a newly plaster pool isnt good for the plaster.
To be on the safe side, you should probably wait 1 month before adding salt.
