replacing leaking liner and water is standing on top of sand.

I am replacing a leaking liner in a 22 round above ground pool. There was water between the liner and wall. I have the liner removed, but about 2 inches of water is standing on top the sand. I have tried pumping the water out, but the pump won't pump this out without taking the sand with it.
Is there anything i can use on top of the sand to soak up the water?
I thought is would eventually soak up in the ground. But the ground must be saturated.

    Welcome to the forum.

    Can you siphon it off?

You may need to wait for the ground water to go down.
I'd bet you my bikini you'll never get TFP water from a pool store!
