Thread: First Numbers are in!

    First Numbers are in!

    FC: 12
    CC: .5
    TC: 12.5
    pH: 7.7
    TA: 200
    CH: 250
    CYA: 30
    TEMP: 49 (brrrrrrrrrrrrr)

Thoughts? Not looking too bad.. I think my first plan of attack will be lowering the TA a bit with MA. TA seems too be my ongoing problem child.. I used seven gallons last year over the course of several months to get down to at least a management level.

That looks good, other than the TA which you are already aware of.

While TA is that high, you want to be completely sure you never let the PH above 7.8.

If you are having too much trouble getting TA down, you could instead lower CH a bit so that things were balanced for high TA levels. That wouldn't solve a constantly rising PH, if you have that problem, but would give you more head room on the PH.

A discussion of muriatic acid lowering TA has been moved to The Deep End in Muriatic acid lowers TA, or does it?. JasonLion
