Leaking spa circulation pump

I pulled out my circulation pump to clear a leaf blockage in the wet end.
After replacing I have good flow, but a leak from the impeller housing. I put
an o-ring and a translucent shaped gasket on the wet end head, as I hope
it was supposed to go. I will take this off this weekend and reset things.
I may have just rushed the tightening of the head assembly and gaskets.

Some advice perhaps.

Would a bead of silicone be a good or bad idea?
How could a replacement gasket be found or improvised?

When I have it apart I will likely post pictures of the
pieces to get advice on how to properly seat the impeller head.

A Laing E10 Spa Circulating Pump 3/4" Barb is the current production
replacement, but the pump and head seem to be working fine.

You probably need to replace the shaft seal. Don't put any silicone on it. Anytime you take the pump apart you should replace the shaft seal.

I pulled the pump out again and with a better 3mm hex tool carefully seated the impeller housing.
Back on the spa and it leaks just the same. There is an outer gasket and I guess a shaft seal.
I have some pictures here

Any thoughts and fixing the leak?

The current production pump is about $150, and would require piping changes.

Maybe you can point out the shaft seal to replace in one of the pictures.
Where would I get replacements for the housing gasket and shaft seal?
