Im looking to purchase a home with gunite pool. The house was built in 1985. The pool was neglected and not covered properly and has not been open at least for 4 years. The water heater has rust on it. There are somecracks outside the pool and The rim around the pool has crumbled a little bit .not everywhere just on some parts of the rim. The bank had try to cover up this pool with some wood, chicken wire ,and cheap plastic. When getting it inspected yesterday inspector took one look at the Pool and said its done; and it's going to cost $80,000 to either remove or fix . The pool is holding water pretty much to the top . And besides a little cracks and some busting around the rim everything else seems to be in good condition . Is it possible just to look at a pool and Assume it's "shot" ?
