Concrete in groud pool

I've only seen hydrostatic valve plumbed in the main drain. My main drain has two 2" threaded holes, one goes to the pool pump, and the other I blocked off, but if I had a concrete floor (I did vermiculite) I would have used a hydrostatic valve. Maybe on your side of the world they plumb them independent of the main drain and they make a special fixture they would screw into, in the floor.

Instructions come with the valve. Generally for a gunite pool you leave a hole next to the main drain or in the deepest location in the pool. The penetration should be lightly larger than the diamater of the valve. When you plaster toe pool you clean out the penetration and plaster the valve in place.
