Heater not heating when pumps run on high speed (Dynasty spa)

Hello,

This is my first cold season with my new Dynasty spa. I noticed that the heater would not heat water when the pumps run on high speed. The two-flame indicator bar on the control panel blinks, and becomes solid as soon as I lower the pump speed.

The owner manual says "If your system in configured in Low Current Mode, the heater will not start if a pump is on at high speed".

Does anybody know what that means? Why would higher water flow affect the heater?

Could this mean that the electrician overlooked something during installation?

That is all. :)

What model do you have? If it is able to run on 110v and wired that way, the heater will not operate with the jet pump running. The amp load is simply too much. If it is wired for 220v, typically the heater and pump can run simultaneously.
