    Pool cover pump for winter?

I have used rule pool cover pumps and while they were solid 10 years ago, the quality has dropped in the last couple years dramatically. Now it seems they have discount inured these pool cover pumps. My rule pump recently failed and I'm looking for a replacement that will last longer than a season. Please let me know of a reliable pool cover pump that can take the winters in Illinois. I've actually pulled the pumps in before the freeze so that I might extend the life of the pump. Thanks for your thoughts.

I am in Northern IL also. I use this and it is on its 6th season: Little Giant APCP1700 Pool Cover Pump with 25' Cord, 1700 GPH, 115V
