Need new impeller?

I was in the process of replacing a leaking shaft seal and found the impeller seal to almost be welded into the impeller. I was able to finally get it out but now before a small corner came off the impeller. The rubber seal will cover this on the new seal but I'm curious if I still need to get a new impeller?

From your description, it sounds like you definitely need a new impeller. Can you post a picture of it?

Impellors are inexpensive. Replace it.
