OK new correct size impeller installed, new gaskets installed and new basket lid installed. Temperature seems normal for the motor, pressure on filter dropped from 16 to 14 psi. Thanks again to everyone on here.
So here is a picture comparing the two impellers. The 3/4 hp correct one for my pump is on the left. They are the same diameter it appears it is just the grooves to move the water are smaller.

One last question. I have bamboo plants I'm trying to get rid of but in the meantime they drop lots of leaves and small twigs into the pool and I'm afraid some of the small hard twigs may get into the pump. I've seen some type of sock that can be put in the skimmer basket I believe? Are those any good, recommended, not recommended?
