pump issues(humming)

Hi all,

I have a 20 x 40 in-ground pool,
The pump a 1 1/2 hp pent-air(centurion), just stop working...well
it hums but no draw, it took everything apart, cleaned it it and spun the impeller( moved freely)
Reconnected everything and it worked fine for 24hrs of continuous use, put it on backwash and it stopped working again...
Do you think the motor maybe shoot??? or could it simply be the capacitor......
If i leave it humming it will shoot off completely until it cools down......????
Appreciate any feed back before i lay out for a new pump, especially since i'm getting ready to close the pool...

Classic starting capacitor symptoms. Should be a simple repair. Just make sure it's the same uF and volts.
