Summer Escapes skimmer vs other skimmers

If I have a 5 year old skimmer from a 15ft summer escapes pool should I just reuse it or buy a new skimmer to install on an intex or coleman pool? Much difference between skimmers, besides the summer escapes one can have a filter installed if needed? I am not sure you would or should use another filter if you are using a sand filter or the filter/pump that comes with the intex or coleman pools.

I would be using the filter/pump that comes with the new pool or a sand filter / pump combo if I find a good deal on one. But, I am considering reusing the my old skimmer to save some money, or is something like a Hayward worth it over my old one?
