Question about lowing the level of water

We don't want to have to drain the pool as much this year we just want to take it below the skimmer opening. We do live in Ohio so I am wondering if this would cause issues when the pool freezes this winter.

Hello and welcome to TFP! . Lowering the water in pools that are in cold weather climates is quite common.
