    Test water from tap?

We had our new pool installed yesterday and are in the process of filling it up with a hose. Can I use the water from my kitchen tap to test to see where we sill bestrting from or will I need to wait until the pool fills up, run the pump, and then test? I know it is originally the same water, but does the pool liner, filter sand, etc. change the water? Thanks!
For now I'm going to change my signature to add my pool info!

You can test the water straight from the tap. Let it run for a little while before collecting a sample to test.
