    Thanks for all the help here...Year after year our pool looks great...With hardly any effort at all....

    Just because the water is crystal clear and never ever has algae doesn't mean it's perfect.

    I'd go for a weekly shock just to be safe. Also take a sample to the pool store and have it checked for phosphates and total dissolved solids.

    Troublefree does not mean Maintenancefree. It's like brushing your teeth: You can spend a couple minutes a day and pennies a week or go to the dentist once a year and spend several thousand dollars.
    A pool is like a pet - you have to feed it every day, even the days you don't want to play with it!

    No need to take it to the pool store..I have a test kit....the numbers are perfect!
