I have the following filtration (cartridge) and pump setup:

I am wondering if I am hooking up my vacuum unit wrong as I notice the return line water flow just goes to like a crawl at times and I end up fighting to get it working right again.

I am totally new to this, so not sure what to expect.

Can you provide a more zoomed out pic of your equipment? And by 'fighting,' do you mean you do eventually get decent flow? Otherwise, I was wondering if you have an obstruction in your line or perhaps at a valve.

Thanks for the response. I'll get some more pics and post.

By fighting I mean its like when I hook up the lines, it stops pumping (from what I can tell in the return line flow) so no water is returning. Or if it is, its very very little.

Now I didn't have the pool up at close to fill level when doing this, so I wonder if that could be part of the problem as now that it is, I am seeing the return water flow is really really cranking out there.

I plan to vacuum this evening and see how it goes.
