Large Pool - lighting advice

Hi All,

Looking for some expert advice on how to light my pool (soon to be poured). What I want is:

1. High efficiency LED
2. Color cycling/mood capability
3. Controllable with Home Automation system

I'm obviously trying to keep the economics in check as well! The mechanicals for the pool are all Pentair stuff.

The current design has a LOT of lights -- which in turn means a lot of $$$$!!! Any and all advice welcome!

My ideas on your lighting:

-No light facing the buildings. You will not enjoy it from the building side.

-light in the area to the right side so there are not dark spots at night

I would also really think about the returns so there is plenty of circulation of the water so there are not "dead" spots of water to grow algae.

This will be an interesting one to watch.

Welcome to TFP!

Wow, that is a great pool! I am not very familiar with lighting. But, with pool automation it is generally best to stay with the same brands of equipment to be automated. So, I would look at the Pentair Intellibrites as a first step.

Definitely agree with Kim on pointing lights away from the house and primary seating areas to avoid glare.

that is an awesome house/pool setup.. it looks from the plans that the lights are in good places except the right side (looking away from the house,) there are 4 lights that I would take away and put 1 or 2 on the center patio pointing away..

please post some pics when your building
