Removal of small debris with intex sand filter

We have a 12x24 intex pool with a sand filter. We are not finding any debris in the basket of the filter. Bugs and floating things aren't being sucked in. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hey Billy, Welcome to TFP!

Some of those pools come with a little skimmer and folks have varying degrees of success with them. In that pool for floating stuff, I suggest a cheap skim net, and that should help a lot. Check Walmart's pool section or perhaps your local pool store. Maybe Amazon if you can't find one local.
