Aeration with solar cover on..?

The trees surrounding my yard must still be growing, I don't seem to be getting as much sunlight.

With the solar cover on when we aren't using the pool the pH is around 7.4 most of the time. I would like to aerate a few nights per week to keep it at 7.6-7.8, but don't want to leave the cover off. I aerated last night with about half of the aerator/bubbles uncovered. Which is only about 12" x 4' -- is this enough to matter? Is aerating with the solar cover on useless??

In your case, aeration is useless, covered or not. Your pH is fine. If your pH sits steady at around 7.4, you're a lucky lucky man. Is there some reason you want it to rise to 7.6>7.8?

I'll keep an eye on what it does if I don't aerate at all. The main reason is, I get a slight burn in my eyes underwater. Nothing much, just enough to remind me that my pH isn't exactly where I want it. I'm very lucky, FC is about the only thing I have to pay attention to on a regular basis.
