I've been debating all season on the best solution to handle the solar cover by myself on our 33" round pool without installing a reel on the new deck.

I cut the cover down the middle seam last year to make it easier to handle. Normally, I roll the halves to one edge of the pool and bungie them to the rail to use the pool but this is only easy to do from the inside.

My search for a better solution sent us to Lowe's to get supplies to make these rollers. MUCH easier to handle now! When they are rolled up and off the water, they lay in large garage hooks attached to the back side of the deck rail, out of sight for the most part. I believe I will be able to winter them in their hooks by covering them with plastic sheeting for weatherizing.
