We just installed a 24' pool package that came with pump, sand filter, etc. Anyhow, everytime I vacuum the pool, the small flies are coming back into the pool. The sand filter is a 19" and came with 100# of sand (filter says it holds 150#). I have the filter set at filter, but don't understand why something that size goes thru. Could it be there's not enough sand, or is something else I could be doing wrong.

Hi, welcome to TFP! Did you backwash and rinse the sand before setting the multiport valve to filter?
Thanks, No I did not. What I didn't realize was the filter was set to pool when I first filled the pool and vacuumed.

Yeah, it came with a funnel for the sand. I contacted the company and it could be channeling, or too much sand. The filter says 150# is required so that it what's in it. The other posibility is a bad spider gasket. Right now we've been in a drought, and I don't want to do anything to lose water. The pool remains crystal clear so once we get rain, I'll check into it.
