Party on Saturday -- add extra chlorine in advance? After?

Hi -- I saw mention of this somewhere on the site and now can't find it. I have been maintaining my outdoor, but covered by a roof and a pool cover, pool at about 3 -4 FC, using liquid chlorine. The pH is about 7.6. I am raising the CYA from 20 to 30. The entire added 14 Oz by volume of CYA dissolved from the sock in 24h, but I haven't measured it yet to see if I've hit 30.

So, I'm having a big pool party on Saturday. Maybe as many as 25 people will swim. Some kids. Should I raise my FC in advance? Any other things I should do in advance or after?

Hi Eva,
It would be a good idea to raise your FC by probably 3 ppm about an hour before the party starts.

After its over, test the FC and make any adjustment that you need to get it back to normal level of 3-4.

Thats really about it.

Yes, raise it up a couple or three ppm more than normal before and check it after the party.
