Please help with my green pool!

I am using chlorine tabs in my pool now. I would like to start using bleach instead. My pool is a 16x32 rectangular and 5ft deep.It hold 16,500 gallos of water.I have about 8 3inch tabs left. How much bleach should I use? Would it be ok to use tabs along with bleach? My pool is a cement in ground pool. Thanks,

Welcome. Only a good test of your water can tell us that. Have you considered one of our recommended tests in Pool School? Tabs have a place, but not if your cya level is already too high.

    Welcome to TFP!

That sounds like a great idea. We need a full set of test results to recommend chlorine levels and whether it is OK to use those pucks. Also, please add your pool info to your sig. More here on sig and test results, Pool School - Getting Started

Re: Please help with my green pool!

Years and years ago, I was so tired of spending money on my pool that buying a test kit seemed totally out of the question. Really? Would it in fact help me at all? ANOTHER (at the time) $80??? Geez.

Well, I finally decided to take the plunge and buy my test kit. It has paid for itself over and over and over again.
