We are in the middle of building an 36' x 18' Inground Vinyl Pool. The concrete pool coping was poured today and I noticed that the skimmer box was riding pretty low in the pool. When I measured the distance from top of concrete to the top of the skimmer inlet, it measured 8.5". The skimmer is a Hayward Auto-Skim series - here is the link to the manual, not sure which model but it is the wide mouth version - https://www.hayward-pool.com/pdf/man...P1084-1085.pdf Doesn't there need to be an air gap to allow leaves/bugs/debris to enter the skimmer? Does this mean that the water level is going to be ~9" below the top of concrete?
