I've been testing daily for just under two weeks, and today I've finally got everything where I want it to be
I started with this (after filling the pool with well water):
FC - 6.5
CC - 0.5
pH - 8.2
CH - 25
TA - 70
CYA - 0
CSI - -0.25
And here are today's numbers:
FC - 4
CC - 0
pH - 7.5
CH - 225
TA - 120
CYA - 30
CSI - 0.1
Thanks to everyone who gave me great advice along the way!
I unloaded the automatic chlorinator yesterday so there is no longer any trichlor pumping into the pool. I'm sure the FC will go down overnight (it dropped from 8 to 4 since yesterday), so I'm ready to start using liquid chlorine on a regular basis as needed. I don't know if the CYA will drift up any more, but I'll keep an eye on it. Would 40 be better than 30? And is 120 too high for TA?
