I've been testing daily for just under two weeks, and today I've finally got everything where I want it to be

I started with this (after filling the pool with well water):
FC - 6.5
CC - 0.5
pH - 8.2
CH - 25
TA - 70
CYA - 0
CSI - -0.25

And here are today's numbers:
FC - 4
CC - 0
pH - 7.5
CH - 225
TA - 120
CYA - 30
CSI - 0.1

Thanks to everyone who gave me great advice along the way!

I unloaded the automatic chlorinator yesterday so there is no longer any trichlor pumping into the pool. I'm sure the FC will go down overnight (it dropped from 8 to 4 since yesterday), so I'm ready to start using liquid chlorine on a regular basis as needed. I don't know if the CYA will drift up any more, but I'll keep an eye on it. Would 40 be better than 30? And is 120 too high for TA?

Pool School Graduate.

40 CYA would protect the FC from the sun better than 30. If the TA is too high, you'll know it because the pH will climb too high too fast. The good news is that just lowering pH to 7.2 every time it hits 7.8 will drive the TA down over time with no special attention on your part.

So stop fussing with the chemistry and :splash:
