Help, is a bottom track necessary?

Help! We just bought an above ground pool that has the walk around deck, privacy fence and fold up ladder. We are having problems putting the wall in the track, all the youtube videos are not for pool like this. Is the bottom track necessary, the line will actually hang from the track in the deck that goes around it?

A picture would help. On my pool a bottom track is used to hold the bottom of the wall.
