Pentair Buttress Thread Closure Replacement Kit?

The top of my pentair sand filter is leaking, so I purchased a thread closure replacement kit.

The instructions are unclear on what I need to do when replacing.

-Do I use silicone on the rubber gasket?
-Do I need to use pipe dope on the clear top piece that screws in (houses the pressure release and gauge)?
-Anything else?

I haven;t got a clue, but I'll give you a in case someone else does.

Use silicone lube on the o-rings.

Note that there are two types of threads. There is a "V" thread and a buttress style thread. The "V" threads are triangular, whereas the buttress thread is flat on one side and angled one the other. They are not interchangable.

Triton filters manufactured after After Dec. 1, 1991 use the buttress style.

Thanks! Super easy fix. Replaced the part in 5 minutes, all seems to be running with no leaks.
