Is it ok to leave solar cover on for long periods?

I wasn't sure if leaving the solar cover on for long periods (e.g. on vacation etc.) had any negative impacts on pool chemistry? We will make sure the chemicals (Bleach) are being put in during these periods, but didn't know if it was better to take the cover off for any reason?

Let your pool breathe. Prolonged periods covered up at summer temps is not good. CC's can easily accumulate when you do not get enough sunlight exposure.

It is a good idea to leave a cover on while away on vacation as it prevents evaporation and protects the chlorine from the sun. If my cover is on I will usually remove it for a day once a week if we are not using the pool so some UV can get to the water to help keep the CC's down.
