New pool owner bubbles in pump question.

Bought a new home with a pool. The spa sometimes will drain into pool when pump turns off and de will go into spa and pool. When pump is running bubbles will appear in pump basket when suction is on the pool side, but when I turn the valve to the spa side the bubbles stop. Could this be a problem with the valve? Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi,
The water draining back into the pool can be either an actuator problem or a check valve problem. Would really need a detailed description and some pics of your plumbing to really be of more help than that.

Bubbles in teh pump basket means that there is air getting into the suction line from the pool. The best way to check for air leak in the above the ground plumbing, is to use shaving cream. spray shaving cream over all of the joints and fittings and any valves in the above ground plumbing. If there is a leak in it, it will suck the shaving cream into the pvc pipe.

Hope this helps get you started on finding the problems,
