I have a Raypak 206 heater and it is making an annoying howling whining sound. I have checked the heat exchange tubes and they are clear. If I open the intake valve to suck from both the skimmer and the bottom drain the noise stops. However when I am just filtering the hot tub there is only one intake line and the heater continuously makes noise while heating the hot tub. ~ Tony

Hi, welcome to TFP! Have you tried isolating the lines to see if there are any partial clogs or restrictions? Maybe a valve not opening completely?
My heater does the same thing if I forget and leave the pump on low. Switch it to high and it goes away. It has to do with low water flow. I was told the theory once but don't remember it now.
