I have an INTEX 15110 pump. I am using it for the first time in two years. I have everything hooked up correctly. When I turn it on, it doesn't pump: it just makes a low humming sound and smells vaguely electrical. Is there anything I can do?
With the power unhooked, try to see if the impeller will spin free. Sounds like it is either bound up. It should spin freely and with a good spin keep going for a bit. There is a remote possibility that it could be a bad start capacitor, but usually when they are bad, you don't get the smell.
