keeping the ladder to the slide clean

any suggestions how to keep the ladder to the slide clean? algae tends to grow on the steps, I suppose since there is no "fresh" FC-laden water on them all the time - it also tends to grow under the slide near the bottom of the ladder where water tends to collect during use - I brush it off occasionally and spray it down with diluted 12% liquid - but it always comes back

Is it because water collects on the steps in a small puddle at the toe of the step? If so, I'd drill some holes on that edge to allow water to pass through. Same for along the ground where you're getting algae. Create some holes for the water to pass through.
