First Slam. Need a little input.

    FC 4
    CC .5
    CH 175
    TA 110
    CYA 40
    PH 7.5
    H2O TEMP 92

I just added murric acid to lower PH to 7.2 for slam. Will test again in 30 min. Then I will add 114 oz of 8.25 bleach.

Attaching pic. No sparkle. Looks a little green. image.jpg

Yes, its quite dull No need to wait too long to get that chlorine in there, then retest about 45-60 min later for the next dose. Keep on it as often as you can and you'll be done in no time. How high are you aiming for your slam level??

Thank you for your help. I am aiming for 16. Is that enough? I input my numbers into PoolMath. PH looks to be 7.2. Is that enough or should I go 7.0?

PH 7.2 good. SLAM at 16 for your CYA (40) good. You got it!

Slam and test every hour if you can, if you start that way it will be faster and you will have a clear pool soon

Thank you. I am off today so I will set my alarm to test every hour.

Once your pool maintain the FC, you can test less often, just test FC and occasionally CC, not necessarily every time you test FC

This SLAM is a monster(in my world anyway). Got worse before it got better. I can at least see the over the wall skimmer hose now. Yesterday, I removed all the pool hardware. I soaked and scrubbed with bleach water to remove any algae and boy did I find some in the two intakes and the return. I also scrubbed the pool and found algae at the very bottom of the liner where the seam is and there is some overlap. image.jpg

Hit it hard, and don't let FC go down

It is eating it up so fast. At least 3 ppm every two hours. After reading a few other threads I think I am going to raise my target to 20 instead of 16 since I cannot test every hour.

It's OK to go a little above the slam level

I read it twice and will read again. I really am doing everything I supposed to. Here are some pictures. I don't see a difference between yesterday and today. The only thing I see are a lot of bubbles on the side walls.

    Yesterday 8:55p

    Today 10:19p

You are not using the swg now? Right?

The only thing I have not done is vacuum. The only vaccum I have is one you attach to a hose, which adds water to the pool, and my pool is full. I have a funeral tomorrow so I will not be able to test every hour.

It's ok. I appreciate your help. Do you think the not vacuuming could be why I am not turning the corner with this slam?
