Need to know what i should buy, outside of a test kit to get going

We need a few more details first. Is this a plaster finish, vinyl liner, or fiberglass pool? Is it indoor or outdoor. Filled with well water, city tap water, or trucked in water? Will you use a saltwater chlorine generator or add chlorine manually?

We do know you will need CYA and bleach. How much you're going to need depends on the answers to these questions and a complete set of test results.
