Boric Acid is 20 cents per ounce at Dollar Tree

Using Boric Acid means no pH adjustments so it may cost less than Borax + Muriatic Acid. Duda Diesel sells 5+ pounds of Boric Acid for less than 18 cents per ounce (not including shipping) ... but if you need less and you're near a Dollar Tree store you can get it in 5 ounce bottles for $1.00 (not including tax).
Intex 10' vinyl above-ground pool, only 1200 gallons, with 55-gallon gravity-flow sand filter, shaded by a tree in the morning then exposed to full sun all afternoon

Be careful to check any form of boric acid powder that is not sold specifically as boric acid. Make sure it is 99.9% granular boric acid with no additives. Many products that advertise as boric acid are typically sold as insect control products. They will often be a mixture of boric acid and other ingredients like diatomaceous earth.

Can you describe this product you have found at DollarTree Store? What does the labeling say?
