I don't have a TF-100, but I would think with a SLAM, you'll want the xl option.
Here's a bit of my back story. I had my first algae outbreak last year. Hubby and I tried randomly treating it with algaecide from walmart. When that didn't work, I went to a pool store to have water tested. Like you, I did what they said, no luck. I lurked a little on TFP and learned just enough to be dangerous. went to a different pool store and talked about CYA. They sold me some of that, plus colloidal silver algaecide. I ordered the k-2006 on Amazon because it had a cya test so I could test my own water. I didn't read enough here to learn about the differences between the kits. The colloidal silver worked, no more algae. Pool stayed clear as long as I added a little bit every few weeks. I was happy and never used my kit. Fast forward to this spring and the worse algae problem we've ever had. This time I visited TFP, I made up my mind to learn. like you I had the best people helping me. I read. I learned and thankfully had the k-2006 so I could get started right away, but some of the reagents in the kit, I barely use and others I run out of - like the fas/dpd. I ordered fas/dpd twice during my slam. I'm still using the second one, but will probably need to reorder again. The k-2006 doesn't come with the OTO for daily testing so I use thee powder test daily. I've ordered some ph and ch reagents as well as an OTO and have already told my husband I'm getting tf-100 next spring.
Living in Texas, you won't close your pool and will need to keep water balanced all year so you will use all of the reagents in the kit. I'd be safe and order XL since you know it won't go to waste.
This pool season has been so much easier once I did the slam and got the water balanced. I love my sparkly TFP pool.
