Turn on heater from a smartphone?

So I am trying to figure out a way to put my heater on a switched outlet that I can control via wifi or an app with my phone.

So i can turn on my heater at lets say noon, so it will be warm when i get home. For an example.

    Possible?

Yeah, I'm actually involved in home automation with some jobs right now. I dont want anything fancy and whole house. I'm basically looking for a wifi outdoor rated power outlet i can use an APP with with to turn on and off.

It would be nice to be able to monitor my water temp from an app as well and then turn my pump on to get the pool up to 85 or so when i get home from work or a business trip or etc.
Maybe that will be my next android app....lol

    EDIT:

So I actually found this....WIFI Pool Temp Monitor But they charge $12 a year for the service. And horrible reviews on amazon.

But if it did work, I could use this to monitor air and pool temp, then find some kind of wifi timer that could handle the current from the heater.........Hmmmmm
I might be on to something.

You can get a Belkin Wemo. That would give you a wifi outlet.

I built a simple internet temp monitor with an arduino Ethernet and a Hayward temp sensor (I think it's for a salt chlorinator but it's just a 10k Thermistor). This plus a wemo or zwave outlet would probably work n
