Ready to switch from Bioguard to The TFP method - pointers needed

Congrats on a successful pool season with TFP!! Consider it this way - with all the money you saved on NOT buying pool store potions, you can splurge and let the pool company close your pool!! I like JVTrain's idea of having the pool company so the heavy stuff and leaving the chemicals to you. More control that way.

I'm no expert in closing (my pool is always open), but I've heard if you wait until the water hits 50F and you open early before it gets above 60F, then your not likely to develop any significant algae over the winter.
