Can't tighten lid on Hayward C1200

Hi Folks,
I have a C1200 that is about 8 years old. Today, I purchased a new cartridge, a Pelato P120.

For some reason I cannot tighten the lid. I tried with the old cartridge, same issue, but I can tighten the lid with no cartridge.
I have been changing and cleaning this unit for 8 years, never had an issue until now.

Any help – ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Nevermind ... Its fixed ..

I removed the white cone under the lid ... problem solved.
