Polaris 65 turbo turtle questions!!

So we have a Polaris 65 Turbo turtle and everything works, it picks up debris and what not but for some reason it only sweeps half of the pool. It will only sweep the half that the return jet is at. We stretch it out to the furthest point of the pool and turn it on and it will stay on that side for a few minutes then it goes right back to the other side and will stay there sweeping the same side over and over again.

Mine did that also, I found some crud inside the lines, that seemed to help once I cleaned it out with compressed air at the nozzles. Of course, since the wife had to have these new steps, now it gets tangled up in them.......
