Algae of some sort?? Can't brush off.....arghhh

I went to clean my 16 x 32 vinyl lined pool and found I couldn't even brush the growth off. I originally thought it was just dirt laying in the low spots but even with vigorous brushing it does not come off. It appears dark to black at first then turns yellowish after brushing. I gave it a brush last night and threw 3 litres of 12 % in but this morning still is not letting go. Going to try to attach a pic.

Sound like some type of Algae, but what's been going on in the pool recently Chemical wise? Can you post up a set of full results please? Without knowing more, I'm betting on lack of good and consistent FC residuals recently.

I have been super busy lately and admittedly have been neglecting the pool. I will go and test now and post the results.

OK....just tested and here are the results:

FC=5.5
CC=0
TA=80
PH=8.0

Going out to adjust now....What are your recommendations? Shock and algaecide?

Good call!!! Too low to read....heading to town to pick up some stabilizer and bring it up!

I would make sure not to add more than you need to get to 30-40 TOPS, and be prepared to SLAM the pool.
