Exclamation Hayward pump motor turning but impeller is frozen

    Hi guys,

here's a video that I shot for my brother this morning, but thought I would post it here and see if I could get any help.

video is here: Hayward pool pump - taken apart - YouTube

Background: -- The pump is only a year old.

The motor itself does NOT buzz, and sound is perfect condition.

    Thanks for any info.

IF any other video is needed, just let me know and I'll post it asap.

Well, what happened when he removed the front screws and exposed the volute? Problem solved?

    So, I'm a dope

I realized after I posted the video, that what I was trying to rotate in that video was NOT the impeller, but the cover.

I removed the cover, that was held on with 2 screws...... and realized the problem is elsewhere.

This updated video shows the problem :
Inside real thing lol - YouTube

( the impeller seems to have come loose from the motor shaft )

problem solved. I was able to remove the impeller and purchase a new one today.

I'll be removing the videos now. If moderator wishes, please remove the thread as I had incorrectly titled the subject content. I thought it was frozen and it was not.

    3:58 pm EST now. Thanks.
